We draw your attention to the fact that it is you as the customer/carrier who is responsible for issuing and obtaining customs clearance for units to be transported by rail. This also applies to the opening and closure of electronic transit (T1/T2) and export documents.
Import to Norway:
All dispatches must be accompanied by transit documents (T1/T2).
CargoNet is obliged to provide daily records with all MRN numbers to the transit control authorities in Norway before crossing the border.
The transit documents are valid to the point of destionation and no customs procedure is required at Alnabru. Unless otherwise agreed, CargoNet will not send any arrival notices for customs purposes.
Please note that EU-documents (EAD - Electronic Accompanying Documents) must be closed in ATLAS before arrival Norway. ATA Carnet/ T5 a.o. documents must be stamped in Sweden before loading.
Export from Norway
For shipments from Norway, you can replace T1/T2 with import declarations into the Union. The customs-ID's for imports are reported for release to the Swedish Customs Authorities in Strömstad by CargoNet AS after departure.
The number(s) on the T1 documents (MRN) and/or customs-ID's must be registeret in our WEB in the "Customs-ID" section.
For export from Norway you are also required to provide export number (TVINN) and type of goods (e.g. "food", "furniture", "building materials" etc).
CargoNet is responsible both to the Swedish and Norwegian Customs Authoritites, that all goods to Norway is accompanyied by a T1/T2 and T1/ or Swedish Customs-ID on foods from Norway. Units will not be loaded onto the train before this is available.
